De Voto to Speak

Bernard deVoto '18, literary critic and historian of the West, will speak at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Kirkland House junior common room. The lecture, "The Damnedest Country Under the Sun," is open to the public.

DeVoto, former English instructor here, will discuss Turner's Thesis and its application to the West as he relates recent developments in the West. He is expected to include an analysis of conservation in his talk.
