Blood Pledges Lag Behind '54-55 Total

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

This year's blood drive lags 182 pints behind the total for last year at a similar time, Phillip DeCaro '57, co-chairman of the PBH drives committee reported last night. Winthrop leads the Houses with pledges of 69.

Only 518 students have pledged a pint as opposed to over 700 last spring, DeCaro said. On the basis of last year's statistics, he expects only two-thirds of these students to actually donate their blood.

With a goal of 1200 in sight, and only two more night left in the drive, DeCaro attributed the poor showing to "the tremendous apathy of the University, and an acute lack of awareness of the need."
