Though the Crimson was not flashing in triumph, or in any other way, the Stadium was almost filled Thursday morning. The occasion: the traditional Boston Latin-Boston English encounter.

The shouting crowd was larger than that for most Crimson games this year, and its roars penetrated the sleepy holiday morning at least as far north as Lowell House.

English won, 20 to 14.
