Freezing winds yesterday forced the varsity football team to alternate between Briggs Cage and the regular practice field as it went through its final home drill of the season.
The practice included signal drill defense against the JVs, defensive sets in the cage, and then back to the practice field for 20 minutes of offense, again versus the junior varsity.
Following the workout, Coach Lloyd Jordan asserted that "the work this week has progressed as well as last year" and that with a single exception, the team should go into the game at full strength. Missing is center Marv Lebevitz, who was sidelined for the season with an ankle fracture last week.
Unloquacious as usual about practice, which has been closed all week, Jordan said only that fullback Tony Gianelly, who suffered a head injury Saturday, should be all right for the game, and that substitute quarterback Phil Haughey will be available.
In regard to his starting lineup against the Blue, he commented "last week's lineup could be an indication."
