Jordan Attacks Official's Decision, Asserts 'It Didn't Need to Happen'

Coach Lioyd Jordan criticized the officials in Saturday's Bucknell game at the weekly coaches luncheon yesterday.

Referring to the incident in which the Crimson was awarded the ball after only two Bucknell downs, he said, "If the referee who made his call had gone through with his decision, trouble would have been avoided. It didn't have to happen."

Commenting further on Saturday's 21-21 tie, Jordan said that it was "a good game," and he praised the Bison's fullback, Bob Ford, as "one of the best in the East." A large number of fast backs allowed Bucknell to make such a strong showing in the second half, he added.

He did not announce his lineup for this Saturday's game against Princeton, but disclosed that tackle John Maher may not start because of a leg bruise he suffered in the Bucknell game.

The first string varsity didn't practice today, but the Freshmen scrimmaged the second and third strings at Soldier's Field.
