The Department of Athletics' version of co-education will begin this Monday on Watson Rink with the start of formal figure skating lessons open to Radcliffe and Harvard undergraduates, it was announced yesterday.
Under the direction of Mrs. Maribel V. Owen, noted instructor and former ranking national figure skater, the program will consist of classes at 9, 10, 11, and 12 on Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Harvard undergraduates may register with Nat Parker at his office at 60 Boylston St. and Radcliffe students may register with Miss Harriet Clark of the Radcliffe Physical Education Department. Harvard freshmen will receive PT credit for participation in the classes.
Impetus for the classes began last spring when undergraduates circulated a petition requesting the instruction.
