Normie Wood, captain of the 1952.54 Crimson hockey varsity, has been flows by the Army from Germany, where he was stationed, to Minneapolis for the Olympic trials which begin Nov. 7.

The scrappy former star forward was notified only last Thursday of the special request by the Olympic Committee that he be given special leave.

Wood joins two members of last year's Eastern Champion team, center Billy Clearly and defensemasn Doug Manchester, as potential Olympic team members. The Army last week also announced special leaves for the two from their Fort Knoxs, Ky., base.
