A poll yesterday of 560 undergraduates pointed to student support for building a parking lot on Soldiers Field.
More than 180 students said they would pay a modest fee to park in an undeveloped lot even without police protection or snow removal. If the Soldiers Field lot was developed and rented at $30 a year with police protection and snow removal, 225 would make use of it.
In spite of enthusiasm, however, the majority opposed the proposals. Over 300 students indicated they would not be interested in a Soldiers Field lot.
