Crimson tackle John Maher was among those players nominated for "unsung hero" honors by the Eastern Intercollegiate Football Association for his play in last Saturday's Cornell game.
The Association called him a "bright spot" in the line by "forcing backs outside" and "making a high percentage of tackles."
Heading the list was Cornell's Tom Itin, the center who was knocked cold in the second quarter of the game but "refused to come out." Itin was a jayvee player last year.
