Freshman Pursues Yard Bike Thieves

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

While a lone College freshman was pursuing a band of local bicycle thieves last night, a University policeman was on his way to the scene of a mass bike theft in the Freshman Yard.

Within an hour last night, bicycles were reported missing from three different Yard locations. A bright-thinking freshman, John Demos, crossing the Yard at 8:45, saw five boys take three bikes from Holworthy. There were no police on duty there, so he gave chase himself. But the thieves, riding bicycles, left him behind.

In the second theft, two freshmen spotted a different group of thieves, including two girls, make off with another three bikes, but their yells were not heard.
