The departure of maids from Leverett House next week may force the University to hire up to eight new student porters, Arthur D. Trottenberg '48, Operating Manager of the Houses and College Dormitories, said yesterday. Some of the new porters hired may be used to reinforce the present "crash crow," operating out of Weld, which performs, and odd jobs where needed, and which will do some of the work in Leverett.
Trettenberg said, however, that he was unsure about exactly how many students he would hire or exactly where they will be used.
