NCAA Will Consider Minor Rule Changes

The N.C.A.A. football rules committee began its three-day session yesterday, with little possibility of adopting any important changes.

Three minor changes, however, will probably be approved. The first would eliminate the four minute rule which allows players taken out in a half to reenter in the last four minutes of the same half. Instead, a player who starts a quarter would be permitted to leave and reenter once during that period. Players would then be able to get a breather, and specialists, such as conversion kickers, could be used.

Another change would put stricter limitations on the movement of the linesmen to discourage the "sucker shift." And, to lessen the number of short kicks, the use of a three inch tee may be permitted instead of the present one inch tee.
