NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

NEW YORK, Sept. 29--Dusty Rhodes' 270-foot pinch home run with two men on base in the tenth inning won the World Series opener for the New York Giants today, 5 to 2, over the Cleveland Indians.

Marv Grissom, who relieved Sal Maglie in the eighth inning, got credit for the victory over Bob Lemon, who went all the way. Today, John Antonelli will probably face Early Wynn in the second game of the Series.
