Rev. John LaFarge '01, S.J., will deliver the address at this year's Phi Beta Kappa exercises on Monday, June 14. Father LaFarge, author of a recently published autobiography, will speak on "The True Face of Our Country."
John Sweeney will read "An Arch for Janus" as the traditional Phi Beta Kappa poem.
The PBK exercises will be held at 11 a.m. in Sanders Theatre and will be open to the public. Tickets for reserved seats may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Room 20, Holworthy Hall, or by applying in person.
There will be a luncheon for members and their guests in the Fogg Museum following the literary program. Place at the luncheon can be guaranteed only if reservations are made in advance, neither cancellations nor reservations will be accepted after June 11.
Those seniors elected to Phi Beta Kappa in June, from 80 to 90 in number, will be able to participate in the ceremony.
