Alec Breckenridge, the mile champion of Scotland, has been named fifth starter in the Heptagonal Invitational Mile, May 15, at Soldiers Field.

A freshman at Villanova, Breckenridge will join Fred Wilt, Horace Ashenfelter, and Fred Dwyer in an attempt to defeat the 1500-meter Olympic champion Joey Barthel. With Breckenridge added to the field, Barthel may get the competition he needs to break the Soldiers Field mark of 4:05.3.
