Sailing Team Defends Championship in June

The varsity sailing team will defend its National Intercollegiate Championship at Newport Harbor, Calif., from June 1618, it was announced yesterday. The Crimson, which did not qualify for the finals, will replace Coast Guard Academy, which has turned down the berth it won last Sunday. The only other New England qualifier, M.I.T., has accepted the invitation.

Last year in winning the national title and the Mores Bowl for the second straight time, the Crimson set a record for total points. Jim Nathanson, a skipper on both national championship teams, will compete in the "A" division in June. The varsity's "D" skipper will be Tim Brown. The crews will include Charlie Flather and A. C. Langworthy.
