The undefeated freshman track team will be heavily favored this afternoon to extend its two year win streak when it faces Tufts at Soldiers Field at 1:30.
Coach Al Wilson's team has lost neither an indoor nor an outdoor meet since the spring of 1952. This year's squad, led by hurdler Joel Cohen and quarter miler Dick Wharten has not even been close to defeat. In its last meet, it crushed the Yale freshmen.
Other outstanding performers for the Yardlings include Pete Harpel who holds the freshman record for the bummer throw; miler Phil Williams; shot putter Tony Gianelly; and half-miler Jim Cairns.
