The freshman rifle team has finished its season undefeated, beating the Newton High School's varsity, 880 to 801, for a 3-0 record.
The unvanquished Crimson marksmen were led by numeral winners Richard Lipman, John Liebeskind, Robert Miller, Paul Wheeler, and Captain Ronald Grimm. They had previously topped the M.I.T. freshmen, 863 to 849, as well as the Waltham High School varsity, 865 to .847.
In all, the Yardlings have eight riflemen on their team and, judging from their performance this year, should prove a valuable asset to the varsity next year.
The team has fired on a new range in the squash courts since last fall.
John H. Hossel '56 will serve as captain of next years varsity team.
