Ivy Films announced yesterday that it will produce a 20 minute documentary film on the social service activities of Phillips Brooks House. The film, to be financed by PBH, is the first major work of Ivy since "Goldcoasting," a film about Adams House completed early last year.
Shooting for the film will begin this Saturday and will be completed sometime next year. PBH will use the film to instruct PBH workers and to acquaint other colleges and interested groups about PBH work.
Kid's Day Theme
The filming Saturday will center about the PBH Kid's Day, when PBH will entertain children from the Boston area. The program includes a swim meet, tours of the University and nearby museums, a luncheon, and a bank concert. In addition, the children will be introduced to athletes Dick Button 2L and Dick Clasby '54 and to Dean Delmar Leighton '19.
Douglas W. Hunt '55 and William J. A. Jablonski '55, co-chairmen of the PBH Social Service Committee, William R. Crawford '54, president of PBH, and Cornelius deWitt Hastie '50, graduate secretary, will work with Ivy in the planning and production of the film.
The script will be written and directed by Jack M. Knutson '54 and Gordon D. Barnes '56. William L. Edwards '56 will be the producer, and Lewis M. Schneider '56 and Stephen J. F. Arpante '56 will handle the photography.
