George Kennan Will Deliver Main Address At 'Cliffe Graduation

George F. Kennan, former United States Ambassador to the Soviet Union, and father of Grace Kennan '54, will be the main speaker at the Radcliffe Commencement exercises, June 16.

In inviting Kennan the Annex maintains its tradition of selecting a Commencement speaker from among the fathers of its dents. Last year's address was given by Senator Stuart Symington (Dem.) from Missouri.

Kennan, an expert on foreign policy, is now associated with the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. His term as ambassador ended in 1952 when Russia demanded his recall after he had criticized the Soviet Government.

Chaplain at the Commencement exercises will be Julius S. Bixler, President of Colby College and a trustee of Radcliffe.

The Rev. Leslie T. Pennington of the First Unitarian Church in Chicago will be preacher at the 'Cliffe Baccalaureate Services, June 13. He is the father of Antoinette E. Pennington '54.
