Yard Lacrosse Team Faces Deerfield Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Yardling lacrosse team meets Deerfield away this afternoon in its opening game of the season. The perennially strong Green will be favored over Coach Bob Pickett's squad which has had little practice as a unit.

Many of the freshmen making the trip have had no previous experience in lacrosse, although Pickett will be starting nine prep school veterans. Stani Yassakovich, Deerfield, Gibson Gerry, Exeter, and Edmund Ansin, Andover, will probably start at attack.

Barry Saxe of Middlesex, Mike Holmes of Exeter, and Mike Durham of Deerfield, will be the starting midfield, and Bill Whitney, Governor Dummer, David Newhall, Exeter, and Brewster Righter, a neophyte, will be the defense. Goalie Mark Rhine played at Exeter.

Midfielders who will probably see action are Dick Chapman, Stew Danovitch, Jim Gale, Thom Draper, and Tony Ostheimer.
