Debate Team Qualifies For National Tourney

The College debate team finished second in the New England-New York area regional tournament Saturday, qualifying for the national championships to be held at West Point later this spring. This weekend's meet was held at Hanover, New Hampshire, and host Dartmouth took first place.

Representing the College in the 30 school field were Robert M. O'Neil '56 and George M. Frederickson '56. The two-man team argued, both affirmative and negative sides of the topic: Resolved. That the United States should adopt a policy of free trade.

Arguing the same resolution, a four man team composed of Verne W. Vance '54, John A. Miskimen '54, Taylor J. Smith '56, and David A. Halperia '55 took first place Saturday in the annual American International College Tournament at Springfield.
