Charles E. Lawson, head of the University Veterans Administration, announced yesterday that Harvard expects to register about 75 more Korean veterans this term. This enrollment will raise the total number of men studying here under the Korean G.I. Bill (Public Law 550) to 578.
Of the veterans enrolling now, 26 will return to the College, raising the undergraduate number to 78. Approximately 30 more will enter the Business School, and the remaining men will register for other graduate schools.
The original allotment of $620 million for veterans benefits for fiscal year 1954 was reduced to $356 million last fall in accordance with more realistic estimates of veteran enrollments. It is estimated that only one-tenth of the persons who have soon military service in the Korean war have used their benefits.
