New HDC Workshop To Aid Playwrights

Amateur College playwrights will have an opportunity to produce original one-act plays under the supervision of the Dramatic Club's new Theatre Workshop, HDC president Peter L. Shoup '55 announced yesterday.

Shoup said the Club project is designed to give new authors "a chance to have their plays criticized by an audience and to enable them to gain experience by working with a living theatre."

Ten programs have been scheduled for this term. The first, "Babylon Revisited," adapted from an F. Scott Fitzgerald story by Shoup, will be presented at Agassiz Theatre on March 4.

Dean L. Gitter '56, Workshop Director, said that all scripts for the weekly plays must be handed in by March 25.
