Paul D. Sheats '54 of Washington, D.C. and Eliot House will receive the Paul Revere Frothingham Scholarship for 1954-55, it was announced yesterday.
Sheats, one of four seniors awarded Rhodes scholarships this year, receives the scholarship, totalling $573.70 this year, for being "that senior who best exemplifies the qualities of excellent scholarship, manliness, and effective support of the best interests of the University."
An ex-Student Council president, Sheats was also chosen as an outstanding freshman in his first year in the College, receiving the Whittaker award for exemplary scholarship and leadership. He was also on the freshman track team.
Last year, the Frothingham award was shared by Richard L. Johnson '53 and Henry J. Landau '53.
