Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
If the varsity basketball team can shut out Dartmouth's Glenn Wilson on the "outside and them in the Indians' Paul Wisdom on the "Inside" the Crimson might defeat the Big Green tonight. Otherwise, the team, plagued by poor shots against B.U. last week, will be a long shot in the 8:30 p.m. Blockhouse game.
Wilson a junior guard, has averaged 12 points a game, shooting mainly from around the key. Wisdom, a 6-foot 8-inch senior center, boasts a 15-point-plus average, compiled predominantly on tip-ins and close to the basket shots.
Manning at Disadvantage
Coach Norm Shepard has assigned probably his best defensive players to the task of blanketing the due. Shifty Ed Condon, who bottled up Yale ace Elisey Morgan, will be responsible for Wilson; rapidly-improving center Dick Manning will try to hold Wisdom, despite a five-inch height disadvantage.
But even if Condon and Manning are successful, the rest of the team "must play its best," according to Shepard, for the Indians also have a height advantage at forwards and have Pete Geithner at guard.
Geithner, the team captain, is perhaps as good a shot as Wilson, but has been primarily responsible for setting up plays. Shepard will match him, captain-for-captain, with Ed Krinsky. The forwards, Gene Givens at 6-4 and Art Patterson at 6-3, are both taller than starting Crimson forwards Harry Sacks and Bill Dennis.
Freshman Teams Undefeated
Sacks is the Ivy Group's leading scorer, with an 18.4 point average, but scored only four points against B.U. Patterson has scored about 14 per game.
In the preliminary game, the unbeaten Yardling quintet seeks its tenth victory facing Dartmouth's also undefeated freshman squad.
