Standard Oil Gives Donation to College

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University will share a half million dollar gift from Standard Oil of New Jersey with 137 other privately-endowed colleges, James Crayhon of the Company's public relations department announced yesterday.

Although no break-down on the donations to individual colleges was available, it is expected that the University will receive the maximum allotment of $5000.

The checks, which were mailed out yesterday, may be used without restriction "to support general higher education at the undergraduate level with no strings attached," Crayhon said.
