Directors Organize More Ivy Leagues

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Ivy athletic directors officially extended Ivy League competition to five additional sports yesterday, bringing the total number to nine, Robert L. Rolfe, chairman of the administration committee, announced last night.

The new leagues are the Ivy Fencing, Golf, Lacrosse, Squash, and Wrestling Leagues. All will institute round-robin pay, except the golf league in which the team championship will be determined at the Eastern Intercollegiate Golf Association tournament.

These Leagues, as well as the Ivy Basketball, Hockey, and Soccor Leagues, approved three days ago, go into effect for the academic year 1955-1956. The Ivy Football League, by decree of the presidents of the member institutions, will not operate until the fall of 1956.
