Strings Attached: How Harvard’s Wealthiest Alumni Are Reshaping University Giving
The the Editors of the CRIMSON:
When a great lecturer like Arnold J. Toynbee comes to Harvard University to speak on such a vital issue as he did last night, it scams to us that adequate provisions should be made to enable him to reach a majority of the people interested. However, this was not done and just as many that hear him speak were turned away, disappoint and disgusted.
We realize that such a large crowd was not expected, why we don't know. With the amount of publicity given to this lecture and the great acclaim recently given to Teynbee himself, it would seem logical to expect a greater crowd.
We feel that the extra effort that could have been exerted to convert Mem Hall into a potential auditorium via a P.A. system is small in comparison to the harsh feelings generated by this over-sight.
