The Combined Charities Drive will nearly double the number of persons it covers in its February campaign, co-chairmen David M. Dorsen '55 and Edward M. Strasser '56 announced last night.
For the first time in its history, the drive will include the Law, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and smaller graduate schools in addition to the College. This brings the University cover age to over 7,000. The drive has also instituted a new program of mail appeals which will go to more than 2,000 non-resident graduate and undergraduate students who cannot be reached by personal solicitation.
To cut expenses, the charities has tentatively arranged with the University for the use of its addressing machines. This efficiency measure will enable the drive to centralize mailing done independently in the formerly separate graduate school drives.

"Under the centralized system," Strassor said last night, "we will handle money collected by the Law School and GSAS in addition to mailing appeals to commuting graduates and undergraduates."
Strasser pointed out, however, that the drive will maintain separate accounts for each school. Unrestricted contributions in these accounts will be allocated according to the wishes of each school.
This year's drive is the first conducted jointly with the Law, GSAS, and College. Specific arrangements are now being worked out with smaller schools, such as Divinity, Design, and Education for similar joint campaigns. These will be completed by February.
