House Cross Country Race Today To Determine Fall Straus Leader

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Today's annual House cross country run will determine the fall leader in the Straus Trophy competition. Those who participate should report for numbers at Dillon Field House at 8 p.m. Freshmen will run at 3:45 p.m.

All are eligible to compete in the House race except varsity lettermen, those eligible for letters, those who played against Yale, and trackmen who earned their letters in distance runs from the 880 up.

As of now, Kirkland House, with 320 points, is in first place, ten points ahead of Leverett. While not winning any of the league titles, the Deacons were very consistent, not finishing below third. In tackle football, Kirkland won 4, lost 2, and tied 1, for third place, and came in second in both touch and soccer.

The Bunnies won the soccer league, but dropped to fourth place in tackle and third in touch. They are 27.5 points in front of third place Dunster.

The Funsters, 6.5 points ahead of Winthrop, tied with Adams for the championship in the tackle football league, finished third in soccer, but slumped to seventh in touch. The Puritans again won the touch league.

Although Adams tied for the tackle football title, the Gold Coasters could do no better than a sixth in touch and an eighth in soccer. Eliot and Lowell tied for sixth in the trophy competition, while the Commuters came in last.
