Varsity Scrimmages Minus Injured Three

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Three key players were in uniform but did not scrimmage yesterday as the varsity football team went through its second day of closed drills at Soldiers Field.

While the rest of the squad scrimmaged the JVs, who played out of Yale formations, quarterback Jerry Marsh, guard Bill Meigs, and fullback Tony Gianelly drilled lightly on the sidelines.

Marsh suffered a leg injury Saturday, and Gianelly left the Brown game with a bruised hip. Meigs has been nursing a sere shoulder since the Princeton game. But Coach Lloyd Jordan repeated that all three will be ready by Saturday.

While Leo Daley and Dick Oehmler replaced Marsh and Gianelly in the backfield, Jim Anthony, thoroughly tested in the Brown game, filled in for Bill Meigs.
