Sophomore Hank Holmes, who figured in all his team's scores, led the varsity soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Lowell Technical Institute Wednesday on the Business School field. The win was the Crimson's fifth straight.
Left wing Holmes got two assists and one goal. His first assist came in the first period on a pass to Grey Hodnett, center forward, who scored at 8:55 on a low, hard shot.
Lowell, undefeated before the game, came back to tie the score after 17 minutes of the second period on a clean shot by Tony Sceppas, who scored both his team's goals.
Welas, Holmes Score
Marv Weiss put the Crimson ahead for good at 8:55 of the third, again on a pass from Holmes.
Holmes then headed in Bill Linglebach's corner kick for the Crimson's third goal. Sceppas slipped in the game's final tally in fourth quarter darkness.
The varsity's last game before Yale on Nov. 19 will be Saturday noon against Springfield, here.
The freshman soccer team gained its sixth victory of the year by defeating Milton Academy Wednesday, 2 to 0. There was no scoring until the final period, when Ken McIntosh tallied on a penalty kick and inside Tom Burnhelm added the last goal on a pass from Karim Khan.
