Strings Attached: How Harvard’s Wealthiest Alumni Are Reshaping University Giving
Senator Karl Mundt (R-S. Dak.) and John T. Flynn, once chairman of the America First Committee, have both agreed to speak at the University early this winter under the sponsorship of the Harvard Conservative Club, its president, David B. Cole '55 said yesterday.
The speakers should provide valuable information, as well as giving "our persecuted and smeared Conservative League a shot in the arm," Cole said.
Mundt SFA Supporter
Mundt's topic is still undecided, but Flynn will speak on "The Roots of Socialist Bias in American Colleges." The speech is scheduled for Jan. 11, in Emerson Hall. Mundt will appear in early February.
Mundt has been a strong supporter of Students For America, with which the Conservative League is seeking to affiliate. "The CRIMSON and the Student Council were all wrong," Cole emphasized yesterday. "We do not want to join SFA, but only to affiliate in order to obtain contacts for literature and speakers, such as Flynn and Mundt."
