The varsity rugby team, bolstered by six English-trained players, began practicing this week. The six, a Welshman, a South African, and four Englishmen, figure to give the team a big boost in this year's four game schedule, according to Rob Albert, team captain.
Twenty-seven men, most of them experienced, showed up for the squad's first meeting Wednesday. Seven are graduate students.
The rugby season opens with a game against Dartmouth Oct. 23 on the House football field. The next two games will be away; against Tech, Oct. 30 and Princeton, Nov. 6. The final game of the season will be at home against the New York Rugby Club on Nov. 18.
