While varsity coach Lloyd Jordan was sending his squad through an extra-long workout yesterday in preparation for Cornell, there was an added attraction at the junior varsity end of the field.
The attraction was Bob Rittenburg, captain of the varsity track team, who is making his first appearance in a Crimson football uniform. Rittenburg, outstanding athlete in the Israeli Maccabiad games last year, is currently a JV fullback.
Meanwhile, two sophomores again worked out the principal varsity backfield of the day--Tony Gianelly at fullback and Matt Botsford at tallback. Botsford has taken over at the tallback post for Joe Conzelman, who has been shifted to quarterback behind Jerry Marsh.
Marsh, and wingback Frank White completed the backfield of the first unit. White is playing in the continued absence of Bob Cowles, injured slightly in the UMass game, who rested again yesterday.
Dick Koch, who also left the UMass game with an injury, was back yesterday, but worked out only lightly while the rest of the squad ran through a dummy scrimmage and then a limited contact drill.
