Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Defending House football champion Leverett was unable to find its scoring punch yesterday afternoon and barely managed to defeat a surprisingly strong Eliot eleven 7 to 0. Dunster edge Kirkland, 7 to 6, in another opening contest.
The Bunnies rated favorites to recapture the title on the strength of their returning veterans, scored in the first half on a 20-yard pass from Evan Spelvogel to Arnie Rubin. Leverett was able to make a number of sustained marches, but they always faltered when in scoring position.
John Bagdasarian led the Leverett attacked with some shifty broken field running, while Roger Vagila, Buzz Smyth and Dan Tyler strengthened the line.
Cabot, Marr, Spark Line
The Eliot line managed to hold the defending champions fairly well, mostly on the fine play of guard Walt Cabot and tackle Ted Marr.
Punting, or the lack of it, was the main factor in the Dunster win. The Funsters could kick; Krikland seemed unable to. Dunster scored in the first half on an end sweep by Ky Dewan. The vital extra point was scored by halfback Steve West on a line buck.
The second half belonged to Kirkland. The second half belonged to Krikland. The Deacons had their own way until the final quarter, when they tallied on a six yard pass from star quarterback Bill Garety to end John Gray. Krikland threatened again, but a long punt by Bruce Downey pulled Dunster out of danger.
