Sebo, ex-Coach Here, Appointed 1954 Chief Of Football at Penn

A former varsity backfield coach was named Saturday as the new head football coach at the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve Sobo, who coached here in 1949; will take over the duties left by George Munger, the Red and Blue's new director of physical education.

After leaving here, Sobo became side to Michigan State's Clarence (Biggle) Munn. In his three years at Michigan State, the Spartans won 27 and lost but one.

Sobo is noted as a strict tactician, and a keen student of gridiron techniques--both in offense and defuse. He did not reveal what offense he would use at Penn, but it is expected that he will continue the pattern set by Munger, a single wing, with a few mixtures of the T.
