8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Former Massachusetts Governor Paul A. Dever will speak on "Democratic Prospects in 1954" at a meeting of the Harvard Young Democratic Club tonight at 7:30 in the Lamont Forum Room.
Dever, who was defeated two years ago by Christian A. Herter '15 in his attempt to retain the governorship, has since reopened his law practice with offices in Boston and Washington, D.C.
Although he has made no definite commitments about his political future, it is rumored that Dever will oppose Republican Senator Leverett Saltonstall '14 in next year's senatorial campaign.
This year the Young Democrats have also heard from John McCormack (R-Mass.), the House Minority whip, and John Carr, state Democratic Party Chairman.
