Dow Snatches Second To Lindy Remigino

Peter Dow put on a tremendous finishing sprint Saturday afternoon at Triborough Stadium to take a surprise second in the IC4A 220 yard dash.

Dow, third after 180 yards, belted out and just missed catching first place finisher Lindy Remingino of Manhattan. Dow would have caught the Olympic champion if the race had been two yards longer, another member of the varsity track team said last night.

Dow wasn't the Crimson's only scorer in the two day meet, which was won by powerhouse Manhattan. Sophomore Bob Rittenburg took two fifths and a sixth, to bring the Crimson's total to six points, one point above Princeton in the standings.

Rittenburg cleared 22 feet, three inches in the broad jump, fifth behind the 23 feet, 61/2 inch leap of Princeton's Morgan Taylor. And he took fifth again in the 220 low hurdles, won by Charlie Pratt of Manhattan in 24.1.
