As the Jenner Committee began its second set of hearings here, five University professors were among the signers of an advertisement in yesterday's Boston Herald which urged "every American who treasures our heritage of freedom" to resist the destruction of liberties by congressional committees.

The Statement was signed by Henry J. Cadbury, Hollis Professor of Divinity, Howard Mumford Jones, professor of English, Kirtley F. Mather, professor of Geology, George Sarton, professor of the History of Science, Emeritus, and Joseph F. Fletcher, professor of Pastoral Theology and Christian Ethics.
