Attackman Phillp Waring was yesterday elected captain of the 1954 varsity lacrosse team at a meeting of this year's letter winners. Waring replaces Ron Huebsch.
A junior, Waring successfully switched from midfield to attack at the beginning of this year. As the Crimson's creaseman, he was responsible for Harvard's scoring punch. That Waring did his job well is attested by his outstanding total of 50 goals, a record which places him among the top five scorers in the nation.
Waring is an alumnus of Andover, where he also played football. His brother Dave was a star Crimson midfielder in 1949-51.
