Harold O. J. Brown '53 of Tampa, Fla., and Adams House received the Henry Herbert Haines Trophy last night at the annual dinner of the Crimson's 150-pound crews held at the Harvard Club of Boston. The award is given to the senior light-weight oarsman "who best exemplifies the ideal spirit of 150-pound crew."

At the same dinner Steve Leland of West Newton and Winthrop House was elected captain of next year's 150's. Leland, who rowed at Noble and Greenough, has hold the number seven seat in this year's varsity.

Brown was toastmaster at the dinner, substituting for this year's captain, Dick Lincoln, who is now on active duty with the Navy. For the past three years, Brown has rowed how in the first 150-lb. shell.

Among those who attended the dinner were Thomas D. Bolles, Director of Athletics, Harvey Love, varsity crew coach, and Bert Haines, retired 150-lb. coach, who celebrates his 75th birthday today.

At the dinner it was announced that incumbent coach Ted Reynolds would definitely not be back to guide the light-weights next year, since he will graduate from the Business School next month. A new coach has not yet been chosen, but chances are be, like Reynolds, will be a graduate student who has had previous rowing experience at Harvard.

The 150's finished an unsuccessful season, losing all of their major races. The junior varsity rowed well till its last race.
