Varsity 150s Seeded Third For E.A.R.C. Championships

Changed and charged, the varsity 150 pound crew races at Princeton tomorrow afternoon against eight eastern 150 pound crews for the 160 pound E.A.R.C. Championships.

Undefeated Crimson J.V. and freshman shells also go against top college crews, with Princeton, so far undefeated, the boat to beat.

With a 1-2 record, the varsity is seeded third, behind Princeton and Pennsylvania in that order. But Coach Ted Reynolds expects his revised eight "may surprise a lot of people." He has switched Randy Seed from five to six spot, while moving Mal Rohrbough from five oar on the J.V.s to that seat on the varsity. Bill Coughlin dropped to the Juniors.

During most of the season the varsity beat out the J.V.s by only a length, but after this week's shift, they thrashed them to the tune of seven lengths.

Both Crimson freshman and junior varsity shells travel to Lake Carnegie seeded first in the Championships. Two weeks ago they kept undefeated records intact with respective firsts over Princeton and Yale.

Behind Harvard on the varsity lineup are Yale, who defeated Dartmouth, Columbia, who fell to the Crimson in the season's first race, and Cornell, who has rowed poorly all season.

For the varsity, Captain Dick Lincoln will stroke, with Oliver Leland at seven, Randy Seed six, Mal Rohrbough five, and Bill Lindemulder at four. Bill Gray is three, Frank Maybank two, and Joe Brown how. George Notter will cox.
