Polo Association Will Give Ponies, Money for Team

In an effort to further college interest in polo, a sports organization is willing to supply thoroughbred horses and pay expenses to any group in the College fielding a team.

Robert L. Ransom '54, a former Crimson polo player, announced yesterday that William Todd, president of the American Polo Association, wants to reinstitute a polo team in the College.

The polo association, Ransom reported, is willing to supply at least three ponies for each player. Thoroughbred ponies cost about $1,000 each. In addition, the association would stable and care for the horses.

The association would also supply the Whitney Fenton Stables in South Natick for practice grounds and would cover the expenses for all away trips. Todd is willing to teach any experienced rider the fundamentals of the polo game.
