Mrs. Markham Invokes Fifth Amendment at Jenner Hearings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Helen Deane Markham, assistant professor of Anatomy at the Medical School, was among four people who refused to answer questions before the Jenner Committee on Friday, March 27. She invoked the protection of the Fifth Amendment in several instances.

In a statement to the press, Mrs. Markham said, "The procedure of the committee shows clearly that it is not searching for the truth but is seeking to terrorize the witness and in turn to terrorize the public."
