Captain Bill Hickey banged out three hits to lead the JV baseball team to a 13 to 2 victory over State Teachers College at Roslindale yesterday afternoon.
At the same time, Boston University's freshman team defeated the Yardling nine, 6 to 4, at Soldiers Field.
Hank Hamel handled JV pitching until the sixth, when he was relieved by Steve Szaraz. The Crimson collected 12 hits, including a triple by Neil Bortz.
Bill Moechel spearheaded the B.U. victory, hitting a single, a triple and knocking in four runs. Bill Cleary and Bob German each smacked two singles for the Crimson freshmen.
John Buras went the route for the Terrier nine, limiting Harvard to five hits. He fanned 11 Yardlings. Potter Palmer and Dan Hinz pitched for the Crimson freshmen.
