The recent death of Hans Reichenbach, logician and philosopher of physics, who was scheduled to give the William James Philosophy Lectures in the fall, will necessitate finding a substitute speaker, the Philosophy department disclosed yesterday.

Reichenbach had been acclaimed by Einstein for his philosophical interpretation of the theory of relativity.
