Coach Corey Wynn's freshman tennis team opened its season with an 8 to 1 victory over Milton yesterday on the losers' cement courts. The "B" squad takes on Middlesex today at Concord.
The Yardlings took every singles match in straight sets, and lost only third doubles. Former Exeter star Hamish Graven, playing number one for the freshmen, defeated Humphrey Nichols of Milton, 6-0, 6-4. Brooks Harris at number two beat Dan McSweeney, 6-3, 6-3. Conrad Fischer and Martin Heckscher, numbers three and four in singles play, combined to take the top doubles match, 6-1, 6-4.
