WHRB last night disclosed plans for its association through the Ivy Network with the National Broadcasting Company. The NBC network has also offered its programs to the radio stations of Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton, Cornell, and Pennsylvania.
The suggested affiliation will enable WHRB to present any NBC programs on a delayed broadcast basis and receive on-the-spot coverage of special events by NBC. The national network will offer additional services including major legal and technical advice and preference of station members for NBC Executive Training Program.
When the NBC-Ivy Network link is completed, NBC will sponsor a major publicity campaign in trade publications to point out the important role of the Ivy Network and college broadcasting itself.
The final announcement of the station's decision will come following the annual convention of the Ivy Network at Dartmouth on April 24, when NBC representatives will meet with student delegates.
